Description
'Magali's Enamelware' is a pottery workshop in the countryside near Parthenay
The enamelware is 100% handmade
Magali uses two different pottery techniques: 1) working on a flat surface or 2) using small moulds
The enamels are homemade in the workshop by using various oxides and adding different materials for their effect and the way they reflect the light.
They are applied to the clay using a paint-gun or a brush, or by soaking, depending on the desired effects.
The kiln is used twice, first to dry the pieces, at 900 degrees, and then to finish them it goes up to 1250 degrees.
It is a technique which lends itself especially well to tableware, vases and jewellery
'Magali's Enamelware' is certified by Nouvelle Aquitaine's Art Workmanship award
