Description
Agnès has always been a lover of plants and gardening, so starting a nursery was a logical progression. She is a fierce defender of nature and the environment and so of course her nursery is run organically. The daughter of a farming family, she has always had soil on her hands and mud on her boots. So nobody was surprised when she installed an big greenhouse in her garden a few years ago and transformed her hobby into a way of life.
She specialises in perennials and decorative grasses which thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. The varieties she has chosen are resistant to hot dry summers and freezing winters. She does all her own propagation from cuttings, the repotting and TLC needed to produce vigorous healthy plants for sale. She has chosen some rare and little known varieties which you won't find in the big commercial nurseries. All of her composts and fertilisers are, of course, organic.
She is keen to share her passion and so she is very happy to talk to visitors about their gardens and what they might plant. It is a relaxing place and you can take your time to wander around. Most visits are not drop-ins, you need to give her a ring first to make sure she's available. She sells gift cards which is a good idea for the birthday of another keen gardener. and she has a website where you can order plants online.
She often has a stall at local markets and at plant festivals around the region.
